When zinc sulfate( ZnSO4) is added to an aqueous solution of barium chloride( BaCl2), it is an example of double displacement reaction.

In this reaction, zinc displaces barium and forms zinc chloride( ZnCl2) and barium takes the place of zinc to form barium sulfate( BaSO4).

Here, only one component gets exchanged in both the reacting molecules and results in formation of the respective products.
