In a synthesis reaction, two or more chemical species combine, forming a more complex product in the reaction. It is also called a direct reaction and is one of the most common chemicalreactions. When the two or more reactants combine they make a larger compound.

As synthesis reaction is that reaction in with two or more elements or compounds react with each other to form a different product.

ex》 H2 + Cl2 ---> 2HCI

and in addition reaction a compound is added to another compound and reaction takes place which form a new product.

ex》 Cl2 + H2 (addition of hydrogen molecule)

----> 2HCI

** in both synthesise reaction and addition reaction 2 two compounds react with each other and form a specific product that's why additional reaction is also known as synthesis reaction.
