The additive inverse of a number is equivalent to that number multiplied by negative 1. (This isn't exactly how additive inverse is defined; nonetheless, be assured that following this method will result in an accurate solution/answer)

TIP: Just change the sign before the number.

For better understanding and clarification,
let a number be x.
 ∴ additive inverse of  x   =  -x.

Therefore, the additive inverse of 58 is -58   (ans.)

Additive inverse of a (real) number in a group of numbers is defined as that number which when added to it results in the additive identity.

In our number system the additive identity is:  0

so for   any number x ,         x + (-x) = 0
Hence     additive inverse for x is  -x.
Thus for  58 ,  the additive inverse is  -58.
