Answer:

Area of room=length * breadth

=3*4

=12

Area of one tile =0.5*0.5

=0.25

number of tiles is given by the formula,

number=area of room/area of one tile

So,

Number=

0.25

12

=48

Thus 48 tiles will be used to cover an entire floor

Answer:

Length of floor = 3m

Width of floor = 4m

Since floor is in rectangular shape

Area of floor = Length * Width

= 3 * 4

= 12 square meters.

Side of square tile with which Bob wants to cover the floor is 0.5m

Area covered by each square tile = side²

= 0.5²

= 0.25m²

No.of tiles required to cover the floor:

= area of floor area of each tile

12

0.25

=48
