adjacent sides of a parallelogram are 12 centimetre and 8 centimetre.the length of the altitude coressponding to the side 12 cm is 6cm. find the length of the altitude corresponding to the other side.

1) length of one side = b1=12cm
corresponding altitude =h1=6cm
area of the parallelogram =b1h1=12*6=72 square cm---(1)
2) length of adjacent side =b2=8cm
let the corresponding altitude = h2 cm
area of the parallelogram=b2h2=8h2 square cm---(2)
but
(2)=(1)
8h2=72
h2=72/8
h2=9cm
required altitude=h2=9cm
