Adjacent sides of a rectangle are 24 cm and 7 cm. Find the length of the diagonal.

Given: (1) □ABCD is a rectangle

            (2) AB = 24 cm, BC = 7 cm
To Find :-  AC

Solution:- In ΔABC, ∠ABC = 90               ... [ _____ ]

∴             AC  = AB + BC                       ... [ _____ ]

                        = _____

                        = 576 + 49

∴             AC  = _____

SOLUTION :-

In ΔABC , ∠ABC = 90               ... [ Right Angle ]

∴ AC²  = AB² + BC²                   ... [ Pythagoras Theorem ]

∴ AC²  = 24² + 7²

∴ AC²  = 576 + 49

∴ AC²  = 625

∴ AC  = √625

∴ AC  = 25 cm  ... [Taking square roots ]
