Question:-

  1. Adjacent sides of parallelogram are 11cm and 17cm. If the length of one of its diagonal is 26cm, find the length of the other.

To find,

  • Length of the other diagonal

Solution:-

➪ BD = 26

➪ OB = 13cm = OD

Apollonius theorem,

➪ AB² + BC ² = 2AO² + 2OD²

➪ 11² + 17² = 2AO² + 2(13)²

➪ 121 + 289 = 2AO² + 2(169)

➪ 2AO² + 338 = 410

➪ 2AO² = 72

➪ AO2 = 36

AO = 6

➪ AC = AO + OC

= 6 + 6

= 12cm
