International trade is considered as a barometer of economic progress of the country as it indicates the share of a country in world trade. It also leads to inflow of foreign exchange and capital investments in the country and contributes to infrastructural growth. Significantly, it is an indicator of the role of the country's economy in a globalised world trade scenario.

when a country is indulged in exports then it means that the products of the country are transported worldwide which helps to gain the foreign exchanges
whereas a country which imports more is considered to be less prosperous as it is depended on other countries to supply material
so international trade brings exchange and country can be considered as prosperous
