Advantage of diagonal scale :

• We can measure the very small fraction of measurements with the help of the diagonal scale. These fractional measurements are not possible with linear scales.

• The fractional measurements need various mathematical calculations in the normal case but with the help of the diagonal scale we can easily measure the fractional measurements without any further mathematical calculations.

Disadvantages:

• The only disadvantage of the diagonal scale is the complexity of the measurement process.The measuring process with a linear scale is far more easier.
