Answer:

Advantages:

1. Comparatively simple to administer

2. Can be created more quickly (compared to other data-collection methods)

3. Cost-effective, but costs vary depending on the type of survey.

4. Can be managed remotely using the internet, a mobile device, a kiosk, a phone, or mail or email.

5. Geographical dependence can be lessened or avoided when performed remotely.

6. Able to gather information from a lot of replies

7. A topic can be the subject of many questions, providing a great deal of versatility in data analysis.

Disadvantages:

1. Respondents might not feel motivated to offer truthful, accurate responses.

2. It's possible that respondents withheld negative responses because they didn't feel confident offering them.

3. Due to forgetfulness or boredom, respondents may not be completely aware of the reasons behind any given response.

4. Compared to other question categories, surveys containing closed-ended questions could have a lower validity rate.

5. Data mistakes resulting from non-answers to questions may exist. If different respondents choose to respond to a question vs those who choose not to, bias may be introduced into survey results.

Explanation:

Especially when using the sophisticated survey software solutions readily available today, surveys are simple to create. However, it is not always the preferred method of data collection, especially if respondents are in difficult-to-reach places. The majority of data collection for many academics is done online. The format of the survey should be determined by the type of study and the demographics of respondents, whether a researcher utilizes an online survey, a mobile survey, a paper survey, or a combination of all four.

Although online and mobile polls are frequently the least expensive survey research methods, they might not reach respondents who can only participate in other ways. If significant respondents are excluded from the study, the results of online and mobile surveys may suffer and differ significantly. Using more conventional techniques, like paper surveys or in-person interviews, may make it simpler to reach difficult-to-reach respondents.
