Advantage and disadvantage of voltage divider bias

Voltage divider bias is the most ideal biasing technique and hence the most widely used technique to bias a transistor. One of the popular transistors that is biased with a voltage divider bias is a BJT transistor.

The key advantage of a voltage divider bias is that in can incorporate more than one kind of voltage divider. On the other hand, the disadvantage of this bias is that signals tend to get mixed up at times.

Advantages of Voltage divider Biasing :

• We can fix the operating point anywhere on the load line.
• We can make the fixed operating point stable.
• By using single DC battery we can maintain EB Junction in Forward bias condition and CB Junction in reverse bias condition.
