Tilling of soil in summer season prevents the loss of water from the soil by evaporation.Due to capillary rise water from deep soil rise to the surface and get evaporated.By tilling these capillary tubes ( pores in soil make a tube through which water is Rosen up) loss their contact with soil surface.
