Answer:

Explanation:

Amma vodi scheme is an initiative undertaken by the Government of Andhra Pradesh . Under this scheme the mothers are given assistance to the tune of Rs. 15000 yearly for sending wards to school or college. The eligible mother would be handed over the promised amount by the Government.

Advantages of the scheme:

  • The scheme can be availed by those who possess white ration card. As per the records nearly 1.4 crores of the population holds a ration card which is nearly equivalent to the families residing in the State.
  • It provides a financial assistance to those families who are unable to send their children go to school because of cash crunch.
  • It helps in making the state aware the need of education and make the entire state free from illiteracy.
  • The scheme once implemented properly at the grass root level would  help the students to continue and complete his/her studies without any financial obstacles.
  • It will restrict the school drop out percentage to a great extent .

Disadvantages of the scheme:

  • The scheme might have a negative effect on the prevailing Government school which is on a decline in terms of new admission. The private school are eating up a good amount of total admission seats and also the charges are pretty reasonable compared to Government school.
  • There is a fair chance of shifting of students from Government school to the Private ones soon after availing the financial assistance. This may leading to launching of more private schools in the State.

       Hope this helps.
