5 It helps in evolution.
6 Undesirable characters of the plant can be eliminated.
Disadvantages of cross pollination:

Advantages of cross-pollination:
- The offspring are healthier.
- The seeds are produced in greater quantities and are more viable.
- The seeds properly develop and germinate and form into healthier plants. If we do cross-pollination between entirely different two varieties, it will form a new species.
Disadvantages of cross-pollination:
- In this pollination each and every time a pollinating agent is required, it is not affordable for every time.
- To ensure the chances of pollination, pollen grains must be produced in abundance. This leads to a lot of pollen wastage.
- It is inexpensive for plants which produce large, perfumed and nectar flowers to attract insects.
