• Electricity can be used to heat either storage or continuous flow water heaters, and can also be used as a booster to solar or heat pump water heating systems. The advantage of electricity is its reliable supply.

• Harmonics : This is the only serious disadvantages of power electronic systems that it injects considerable harmonics both the sides, to the connected load side and to the power source side. Hence nowadays we have special VFD motors which are designed to better handle the effects of harmonics.
