Floating gas holder type biogas plant is a type of biogas plant which consists of a dome shaped gas holder , which is made up of steel to collect the bio gas , and it also consists of a digester tank. This dome shaped gas holder is not fixed and hence it keeps floating over the slurry which is present in the digester tank.
ADVANTAGES:
1. Very easy to operate
2. Provides constant gas pressure
3. Volume of stored gas can be directly recognized.
DISADVANTAGES:
1. High construction cost
2. Steel parts may lead to corrosion
3. Short life nearly upto 15 years
4. Results in regular maintenance costs due to painting.
