Perennial canals irrigation:
Advantages- It provides water throughout the year because it is connected with dams and barrages. Due to continuous availability of water farmers can grow numbers of crops which will help in their economic growth. We can also avoid drought situation.
Disadvantages- Canal irrigation can cause water logging which can make the soil unproductive because water logging brings harmful salt and alkaline material to the surface level. Due to stationary water in canal many disease can be caused due to mosquitoes and insects.
