ADVANTAGES OF TRANSPIRATION :-

1⃣COOLING EFFECT: Transpiration refuses temperature of the plant even when it is exposed to bright sunlight.

2⃣DISTRIBUTION OF WATER: Transpiration helps in the distribution of water throughout the plant.

3⃣TRANSLOCATION: it helps in the transportation of water and minerals through xylem after entering into the root hair.

4⃣SUCTION FORCE: Transpiration developes a suction force which is heplfull in the ascent of Sap and absorption of water from the soil through the roots.

5⃣OSMOSIS: Transpiration hell's in osmosis.

6⃣EFFECT OF TRANSPIRATION ON CLIMATE: the amount of water lost during transpiration can be huge. An large oak tree can lose up to 600 dm^3 water vapour in a day and a single maize plant loses about 2 liters of water per day. Thus, transpiration increases increases the moisture in the atmosphere and brings rain thus affecting climate.

DISADVANGAGES OF TRANSPIRATION ARE :-

1⃣WILTING: When the amount of water lost through transpirtion exceeds absorption through roots, leaf cells becomes flaccid causing wilting plant wilt, but regain their turgidity in the evening When wilting persisting for a long time, it is called PERMANENT WILTING. Sometimes, it may be due to diseases also.

2⃣STUNTED GROWTH: Excessive transpiration results in the closing of Atlanta following the production of abscissic acid. It causes premature leaf fall and delayed flower production.

3⃣ENERGY EXPENDITURE: Most of the water absorbed is lost by transpiration and energy is utilised in transpiration so it is a gross energy expenditure.

4⃣ABSCISSION: When very little water is available to plants, transpiration results in the closing to Atlanta following resultsvin thevclosingvof stomata following the production of abscissic acid. It causes premature leaf fall and delayed flower production.

5⃣LOSS OF MINERALS: Transpiration stream is the path of movement of minerals sap through the vessels and trachea of xylem tissue, due to transpiration.

Explanation:

Transpiration is the process of loss of water from the aerial parts of the plant.

Advantage- It helps in exchange of gasses in plants.

Disadvantage- 98% of the water absorbed by the plants is lost leading them water deficient at times.
