Advantages of varactor diode.
varactor diode has Low Noise.It generates less noise as compared to other P-N junction diode. the power loss due to noise is low in varactor diodes. varactor diode has Portability and we can say that. It is portable due to the small size and lightweight.varactor diode has Reliability.and It is more reliable other than P-N junction diodes.varactor diode is Economical. and It has a low-cost diode.so it is economical to use in various applications.
Disadvantages of varactor diode.
These are specially designed only to the work in the reverse biased mode, thus it possesses the least significance when operated in forward biasing.
A varactor diode is also known as a tuning diode, variable capacitance diode, variable reactance diode, or varicap diode. It is a diode which has a variable capacitance. It is a function of the voltage which is impressed on its terminals. Varactor or tuning diodes are operated reverse-biased so no current flows.
