Advantages
Sugar industry provides bagasse i.e residue of crushed sugar cane which is used as an organic fertiliser,cattle feed,fuel for mills ,biogas,as a raw material for paper,cardboard and synthetic industry
It provides molasses i.e a thick brown sugar syrup which remains after the sucrose is removed,it is used to manufacture alchol,fertilisers and synthetic ruruber
It provides pressmud.i.e the residue obtained in the process of filteration of sugarcane juice.it is used as a soil conditioner,soil fertilizer and for wax production.
Disadvantages
It is necessary to crush sugar cane within 24 hours as the juice of sugar cane dries up and sucrose begans to decrease.
Low yield sugarcane cultivation makes less profitable for formers.
Old and primitive method of cultivation leads to low yield and less profit.
