3. Interest of the people are not sustained in the long run since it was developed by outsiders.
4. Plantation farming is not good for ecology. Over-exploitation and absence of crop-rotation depletes soil fertility and increases soil erosion.
5. It produces only one product e.g tea, coffee etc.
