Advantages of deep learning over shallow or surface learning

Deep learning and shallow learning are two completely different things, which are related to each other but cannot be compared. It depends on your needs, performance over accuracy or accuracy over performace.

Today, almost all the times deep learning models ten dto beat shallow learning models in accuracy. However, deep learning models are time consuming, computationally expensive and require more skill to implement whereas shallow learning algorithms can be fast and effective and acheive very high accuracies.

So remember, they cannot be compared. Deep learning is more accurate and time consuming wheras shallow learning is computationally effective and can be employed comparativly quickly.
