So, our federalist form of government has several advantages, such as protecting us from tyranny, dispersing power, increasing citizen participation, and increasing effectiveness, and disadvantages, such as supposedly protecting slavery and segregation, increasing inequalities between states, states blocking national .Federalism prevent the possible abuse of the authority represented through the political power distributed to the states. Federalism makes sure there is a series of authority between state and central government, thus discouraging and preventing any abuse of power.State and local authorities are better than federal agencies at discerning the needs of the people. Centralizing key issues at the national level is more effective at addressing state and local issues.
