Lowers property values.
That is only an advantage if you are attempting to consolidate large plots on the cheap.
Otherwise there are few advantages to land pollution.
Other posters have pointed to Chernobyl as a possible positive in that it forced everyone to tighten regulations on nuclear power.
I disagree.
Chernobyl was a catastrophe. It left a city in ruins and forced 10s of thousands to abandon everything they owned to be scattered about the Soviet Empire. It killed quite a few and others have gotten ill from radiation exposure, the actual death toll may never be known.
Pollution clean lean up costs are exorbitant usually. They are generally footed by the wider society and not the polluters. The effort also takes time. Valuable man hours that could be better applied somewhere else.
