Answer:

Advantages of Mixed farming: Farmers can keep their fields under continuous production. There is reduction in the need of artificial fertilizers which can otherwise be expensive. There is geographic mixing of crops; this can help slow the spread of pest and other diseases in the growing season.

Inter-cropping helps in preventing pests and diseases to spread throughout the field. It also increases soil fertility, whereas crop rotation prevents soil depletion, increases soil fertility, and reduces soil erosion. . It also helps in controlling weeds and controls the growth of pathogens and pests in crops.

Mixed cropping The crops are chosen so that the waste products of one cup fulfill the other one.

Crop rotation Leguminous plants can utilize atmospheric nitrogen to produce nitrates and release them in the soil due to the presence of rhizobium bacteria in the root nodules . By this way the soil becomes rich in nitrogen and ready for next crop of wheat and rice .
