The advantages of nuclear family:

• Nuclear families are financially stable. Since, it's a smaller family, the expenses are lesser.
• Nuclear families are independent. Since there is physical distance between parents and their married children, there is minimum interdependence between them.

The advantages of joint families:

• Members of joint families can always find a company at home. Loneliness doesn't bother them.
• Children who are raised in a joint family seems to be more emotionally stable and mature than the children from nuclear families.
