Advantages of parallel arrangement over series arrangement in a circuit

The advantage of parallel arrangements over series arrangement is that, in series arrangement if one of the appliance stops working, the circuit breaks and thus the other appliances also stops working. whereas in Parallel arrangements this is not the case and even if one appliance stops working, other appliances continues to work properly!
