☜☆☞ A non-biodegradable material will last in theory forever depending on it’s use. For example a thermoset polymer material as a knife handle if treated properly will last for generations and that knife could be passed down as an heirloom.
It’s not as easy to do that with something that’s biodegradable.
There are instances where non-biodegradable things make a lot of sense and then there are instances where biodegradable make a lot of sense.
It should be noted that wood has amazing properties from a longevity standpoint and it is ultimately biodegradable (even treated with lots of chemicals).
