When all is well we tend to move about life habitually and become complacent in our ways. We can still be introspective, but in most cases it would be intentional and likely only skin deep. Take meditation for example. If all is well and we come across the idea of meditation, we have to will ourselves to that state of mind and is usually to some predetermined end. When adversity catches us off guard and we’re thrust into unintentional chaos we only have 2 choices for change (be it mental or physical), outside support or inner support. The latter support structure requires introspection
