markets are flooding with consumer goods and services, with every company trying to sell its goods or services. advertisements are a tool by which consumers can get information about products and make an informed decision on what to buy and use. this is the perfect setting in an ideal world. but our world is driven by manufacturers' greed who try to maximize their sales and profits and thus end up using false or deceptive advertisements to attract global consumers.
instead of providing apt information about the product to the consumers, companies try to oversell their products by exaggerating about it. most of the advertisements are deliberately untrue, provide incomplete information or are vague. this is specially true in case of attractive, flashy ads pertaining to kids items. consumers are the deciders of success or failure of a product. companies, to remain in competition give incorrect information about their goods to the consumer. terms and conditions apply in small fonts, mobile network availibility in utterly remote places, false labelling etc are some of the numerous examples of misleading ads floating around nowadays.
