How do I market the opening of my new clothing store?

I'd like to open a retail store selling clothes but I have no idea how to market my clothing store and get customers to trust and buy my product lines. I need help when it comes to marketing. What can I do to get started?

A lot of people have talked about social media, ads and PR. All are great, but what you really need to do is get visibility in your local community and get people to physically see/touch/try on the clothes. To do that I'd suggest a couple of things:

1. Join your local chamber of commerce and work with them on a grand opening/ribbon-cutting ceremony. They will help promote the event and your store.

2. Find opportunities to partner and create events. This might mean you take some samples and have a pop-up shop in another location where your target market is. This could be anything from a pilates studio to a hair salon. Or you could invite people into your shop - perhaps you have a personal stylist there to give free consultations to shoppers (using your clothes of course!).

The main point is that you work with other people, so you double your promotional power as both of you promote it. It also creates an event that you can promote through sites like eventbrite.

Good luck!
