Answer:

Each side of square = 16cm

Are of square =16 × 16 cm²= 256cm²

Radius of semicircle = 16/2 cm =8cm

Area of both semicircles =Area of circle

=> 22/7× 8×8= 201.14cm²

Area of shaded region = Area of square-Area of semicircles

=> Area of shaded region =( 256-201.14 )cm²=>54.86cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Given=>Side of square=>16cm.

So area of square=>16*16

=>256cm^2.

  • Diameter of semi-circle=>16cm.
  • Radius of semi-circle=>16/2

=>8cm.

  • So are of semi-circle=>1/2(πr^2).
  • As semi-circle are two=2*1/2(πr^2)

=>πr^2

=>3.14(8)^2

=>3.14(64)

=>200.96cm^2.

—So area of shaded portion =>Area of Square- Area of circle.

=>256-200.96

=>55.04cm^2.

So the area of the shaded portion is 55.04cm^2 which is the required answer.

HOPE IT HELPS.
