afforestation leads to both air and water conservation as well as soil conservation how. ... Thus, they maintain level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in nature which improves the quality of air in the atmosphere. When there are more number of plants there will be more rainfall and thus the level of ground water increases.

Afforestation leads to both air and water conservation in the following ways -

• Water conservation :

Afforestation increases the amount of green vegetation. This green vegetation increases the level of water vapour in our atmosphere through the evaporation process.

This increased amount of water vapour in our atmosphere causes rainfall which is a significant contribution in the water conservation.

• Air conservation - The plants need carbon dioxide for their respiration which is harmful for environment and ourselves.

On the other hand, plants excrete oxygen through their respiration which is beneficial for both the environment and ourselves.

In this way plants conserve the air by keeping the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen in our atmosphere.
