Solution :

Let, runs by Afridi = x and runs by Shehzad = y

By the given conditions,

x + y = 69 .....(i)

x = 2y

⇒ y = x/2 .....(ii)

Substituting the value of y in (i) no. equation, we get

x + x/2 = 69

⇒ (2x + x)/2 = 69

⇒ 3x = 69 * 2 = 138

⇒ x = 138/3

⇒ x = 46

Afridi's current score is 46

Therefore, to complete his half century, he needs (50 - 46) = 4 more runs.

Solution:

Given that, Afridi and shehzad gave 69 runs opening start to pakistan.

Let Afridi and Shehzad runs be x and y respectively;

Now, According to the Question's Statement! , we have ;

x + y = 69 .....(i)

x = 2y ............(ii)

Now, Solving Equation (I) and (ii) , we get ;

Substitute the value of x in Equation (I) ;

☞x+ y = 69

☞ 2y + y = 69

☞ 3y = 69

☞ y = 23

Now, Substitute the value of y in Equation (ii) , We get ;

x = 2y

x = 2(23)

x = 46

Hence, Current runs of Sehzad = 46

To Complete his half century , he needs [ 50 - 46 ] = 4 runs

Therefore, To Complete his half century , he needs 4 runs .
