Total gain percentage on both the chairs = 13.5%

Step-by-step explanation:

we have given,

First chair

  • Markup price = 1250

  • profit = 15%

  • Discount = 8%

second chair

  • selling price = 1120

We have to the cost price of both the chairs

Let's assume that cost price = 100

Selling price = cost price + profit

selling price = 100+15 =115

Markup price = selling price + discount on Markup price

  • => (100-8=92)

Marked price = 115 × 92/100=125

And ,125 = 1250

which means cost price = > 100 = 1000

First chair sold at 15%

  • => 1000×15/100=150

Selling price = cost price + profit

  • => 1000+150=1150

second chair sold at = 1120

Total profit = 150+120=270

Total percentage gain at the selling of both chair

  • =>270/2000×100=13.5%

Answer = 13.5%
