after 10th what group should we take to study archeology
Answers
You can opt any stream like Medical/Non-medical science, Commerce or Arts for senior secondary education. After Intermediate level go ahead with Arts or Science. I don't think any school provides Archeology or Anthropology as a major or optional subject in Intermediate. But if you'll choose Commerce stream you can go with Science for bachelor's degree.
In my opinion choosing Arts stream with History as majors will help you to get deeper knowledge. It would be of great help for your career.
Be focused on your study and work hard.
Have a nice day.

Becoming an Archaeologist means that you need to be an avid learner of all things historical. Hence, studying History makes sense for you. However, studying History is not enough. You should be ready to work under not-so-favorable conditions, have a passion for archaeology, and very good observation skills.
You can choose science, or humanities as of now, it won’t matter that much, as Archaeology is a specialized branch that you will be able to take up at the post-graduate level (unless you go abroad).
I suggest you read this article to understand more about this career option in depth: Archaeology 101: Everything You Need To Know To Pursue This Exciting Career
I hope this will be helpful. All the best!

A very interesting professional choice. Only a few wish to be a part of this amazing yet underrated field.
But, before you zero in on archaeology, make sure to do a through research on it. Your research should include -
Reading numerous write ups on this profession.
Trying to get in touch with someone who is already in this profession.
Once done with your homework, register with a good career counselling center for the final approval. These counsellors do an in-depth research on your talents, ambitions, interests etc. They also give you a comprehensive picture of the profession you wish to be a part of.
If you still have your heart for archaeology by then, you can go ahead and chase you dreams with confidence
Archaeology is the science of studying human cultures through the recovery, analysis and documentation of material remains and environmental data, like architecture, artefacts, features, landscapes. It is preferable for candidates to have a background of ancient history and culture. The basic eligibility criteria for a Bachelor course in History/ Archaeology (i.e B.A level) of three-year duration, is 10+2 or equivalent.
Graduates in History in any stream with an aggregate of 55% marks can apply for Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma or Post graduation (MA/ M.Sc.) in different fields of Archaeology. Duration of these courses may vary from 1 year to 2 years. Admission to the two year Post Graduate Diploma course at the Institute of Archaeology, the academic wing of the Archeological Survey of India in New Delhi, is on the basis of a written exam and an interview. At a higher level, those interested in conducting research on the various branches of Archaeology can do Ph. D. But before applying for research fellowship, they must have completed their post graduation.
