At present :

Your age = x years

After 12 years :

Your age will be ( x + 12 ) years

4 years ago :

Your age was ( x - 4 ) years

According to the problem given ,

3( x - 4 ) = x + 12

=> 3x - 12 = x + 12

=> 3x - x = 12 + 12

=> 2x = 24

=> x = 24/2

=> x = 12

Therefore ,

At present your age = x = 12 year's
