AnswEr:-

Given:-

  • After 15 years Mary's age will be four times of her present age.

To Find:-

  • The present age of Mary.

So let the present age of Mary be x years.

Therefore,

After 15 years her age will be (x+15) years.

Also 4 times of her present age will be 4x years.

So ATQ:-

 \\ \tt\mapsto x + 15= 4x \: years. \\ \\ \tt\mapsto4x - x = 15 . \\ \\ \tt\mapsto3x = 15 . \\ \\ \tt\mapsto \: x =\cancel \frac{15}{3} \\ \\ \tt\mapsto x = 5.

Therefore Mary's present age is x = 5 years.
