Let the age of Ranjan be x.
His age after 15 year = x+15
His age before 5 year = x-5
According to question:-
x+15 = 3(x-5)
x + 15 = 3x - 15
15 + 15 = 3x - x
30 = 2x
x = 30/2

So the present age of Ranjan is 15 years.
