5 years ago my age = x – 5 years

According to question,x + 3 = 3(x – 5)

⇒x + 3 = 3x – 15

⇒ 3x – x = 3 + 15

⇒ 2x = 18

⇒ x = 18/2 = 9 years

∴ My present age is 9 years
