After 7 years, three times the age of lalit will be equal to his father's age which is equal to 6times lalit's present age. Find the present ages of both of them.

3(X+7)=Y+7

Also

6X=3(X+7)

6X=3X+21

3X=21

X=7 years(Lalit)

Now

3(7+7)=y+7

42=y+7

7 years after,

3(x + 7) = y

3x + 21= y

3x - y =21 __1

6(x+7) = y

6x +42= y

6x - y= 42 ___2

Substitute the value of in eq 2

X = 21 + y/3

6x - y= 42

6( 21+y / 3 )- y = 42

126+ 6y - 3y= 42

3 y = 126- 42

Y= 84 ÷3

Y =26
