solution :- let raj's present age be x
then equation = (x+8)=3(x-2)
=x+8 = 3x-6
=x-3x= -6-8
= -2x = -14
both the minus signs are cut because they are similiar
= 2x=14
= x=14/2
=x=7.
so therefore raj's present age is 7yrs.
