Hey buddy ...  Ur answer is ...    The water (in the rain) clears the dust particles which are able to cleared from the air and it acts as a cleansing agent also. Even, the unwanted layers (say, the layers of thick ash) was cleared by the rain (water molecules).  Hope it helps....!!!!
