Exponentiation is just a shortcut to write repeated multiplication. So, 10^410(4)
means that you have to multiply 10 by itself four times:10^4=10\cdot10\cdot10\cdot10=1000010 4 =10⋅10⋅10⋅10=10000
Powers of ten, moreover, are a very special case: the number 10^k10
k is always a 1 followed by k zeroes. In fact, in this case, 10^41(4) is a 1 followed by 4 zeroes.
