After a period of exercise which blood vessel will contain the highest concentration of carbon dioxide?
Answers
After a period of strenuous exercise all the veins (blood vessels) will have highest concentration of Carbon Dioxide.
This is because of the following reason :
1. Strenuous exercise involves vigorous use of skeletal and cardiac muscles.
2. The increased activity will demand more oxygen .
3. Higher amount of oxygen dissolved blood will be pumped by heart into the arteries.
4. These blood vessels will supply almost 20 ml of oxygen to tissues per minute.
5. The oxygen demanding tissues will take up almost 15 ml.of oxygen and release the CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the veins to be taken back to lungs via heart.
6. The carbon dioxide is released due to cellular respiration occuring inside the cell.
Answer:-
Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from the vena cava.
Some Information:-
Deoxygenated blood contains more Carbon Dioxide and less Oxygen. The left side pumps oxygenated blood (high in oxygen and low in carbon dioxide) to the organs of the body. Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from the vena cava. Blood moves into right ventricle. Blood is pumped into the pulmonary artery.
