Solution :-

Let us assume that, the marked price of the article is Rs. 100x .

So,

→ MP = Rs. 100x

→ Discount = 10%

then,

→ Discount = 10% of MP = (10 * 100x)/100 = Rs. 10x .

therefore,

→ SP = MP - Discount

→ SP = 100x - 10x = Rs. 90x

A/q,

→ 90x = 3600

→ x = 40

→ 100x = 100 * 40 = Rs. 4000 (Ans.)

Hence, the marked price of the article is Rs. 4000 .

Direct Formula :-

→ MP = (SP * 100) / (100 - discount %)

→ MP = (3600 * 100)/(100 - 10)

→ MP = (3600 * 100)/90

→ MP = Rs. 4000 (Ans.)
