let the MP of fan be rs.x
SP=x-(12%of x)
2040=x-(12/100)x
2040=x-(3x/25)
2040=(25x-3x)/25
2040=22x/25
22x=51000
x=51000/22
x=2318.18

no in answersheet its not a answer ...the answer is ₹3000
but i have checked ; 12%of 2318.18 is 278.18 and if we subtract it, we get 2040.
yes you correct my ans. is also this ...i thought that the answersheet is wrong
