Given ,

SP = ₹13,489

Disc = 18%

To Find :-

The marked price.

Solution :-

Let the MP be ₹x

Discount in rupees = 18% of ₹x

=\: {\dfrac{18 \times x}{100}}

=\: {\dfrac{9x}{50}}

SP = MP - Discount

=\: x\: -\: {\dfrac{9x}{50}}

=\: {\dfrac{50x - 9x}{50}}

=\: {\dfrac{41x}{50}}

Also given that SP = ₹ 13489

=>\: 13489\: =\: {\dfrac{41x}{50}}

=>\: x\: =\: {\dfrac{13489 \times 50}{41}}

=> x = 16450

Therefore, Marked Price is ₹16,450

Short-hands Used :-

  • SP Selling Price
  • CP Cost Price
  • MP Marked Price
  • Disc → Discount
