Heya,

Let d1 = 15% and d2 = 5%

The formula is
mp(1 -  \frac{d1}{100} )(1 -  \frac{d2}{100} ) = sp
So,

mp =  \frac{sp}{ (1 - \frac{d1}{100} )(1 -  \frac{d2}{100} )}
So,
 =  > mp =   \frac{2907}{ (1 - \frac{15}{100} )(1 -  \frac{5}{100}) }
So,
mp =  \frac{2907}{ \frac{17}{20}  \times  \frac{19}{20} }
So,

mp =  \frac{2907 \times 20 \times 20}{17 \times 19}

So,

MP = 9×20×20 = 3600

Answer:

The marked price of the fan is Rs. 3600.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the marked price be x.

The price of fan after 15% discount is

x(1-\frac{15}{100})=x(1-0.15)=0.85x

The price of fan after 5% discount is

0.85x(1-\frac{5}{100})=0.85x(1-0.05)\Rightarrow (0.85x)(0.95)=0.8075x

After allowing two successive discounts of 15% and 5% a fon is sold for rupees 2907.

0.8075x=2907

x=\frac{2907}{0.8075}=3600

Therefore the marked price of the fan is Rs. 3600.
