Given:-

            Increase % (z) = 540

            Value of the number after  increase (y) = 540

Let the original number be "x".

To find:-  the original number.

Finding:- Here,

x = (y×100)/(100+g)

= (540×100)/(100+20)

= (540×100)/120

= 450

∴ The original number (x) = 450

Let the number be x

Increase % on number = 20%

According to the question :

x + (x \times  \frac{20}{100}) = 540

x + (x \times  \frac{2}{10}) = 540

x +  \frac{2x}{10}  =540

 \frac{x \times 10}{1 \times 10} +  \frac{2x}{10}   = 540

 \frac{10x}{10}  +  \frac{2x}{10}  = 540

 \frac{12x}{10}  = 540

12x = 540 \times 10

12x = 5400

x =  \frac{5400}{12}

x = 450

Therefore the number is 450.
